Dorothy (Dotty) Carpenter, March 9, 1921 – Aug. 7, 2018

Dorothy (Dotty) Carpenter passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 11:45 a.m. in Moab. She was 97 years old and had been in the hospital with pneumonia.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry Davis, from Fruita, Colorado, and his wife Carol; by her brother, Jimmy Davis, from Moab, and his wife Babs; and by her sister, Joyce Day, from Arizona.

Dotty was born to Carl and Irene Ferguson, in Judsonian, Arkansas, on March 9, 1921. She later married William Carpenter (deceased) of Sepulveda, California, where they lived starting in the 1950s. She moved to Moab in the mid-1990s to be near her family.

Dotty was a beloved sister and aunt to five generations of family members. She liked to do ceramics, sewing, knitting, cooking and was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews. Dotty will be sorely missed by all.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Community Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
