Colorado man killed in motorcycle accident

A Colorado man was killed on Sunday, April 22, in a motorcycle accident on State Route 128 near mile marker 41.

Thirty-eight-year-old Kevin Swoffer, of Cedaredge, Colorado, was traveling southbound as the single occupant on a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle with the Bikers Against Child Abuse group when he veered off the road to the right.

Swoffer subsequently lost control of the motorcycle on the gravel shoulder and laid the motorcycle down, according to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP). UHP, Grand County EMS (GCEMS), Castle Valley EMR and Classic Air Medical responded to the incident at approximately 11:53 a.m.

Reports said Swoffer was wearing a helmet but suffered significant head injuries. Resuscitation efforts were made on the scene by emergency personnel but he was pronounced dead.

The reason for the crash is unknown. Authorities said speed and impairment were not factors in the accident.
