Stacey Downard, January 8, 1971 – November 22, 2017

“What do you say in a moment like this, when you can’t find the words to tell it like it is. Just close your eyes and let your heart lead way.” – Reba

Stacey Aaron Downard (Vickers) was born on January 8, 1971, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was raised in Moab for most of her life. She was the daughter of Richard Vickers and Beverley Neal. She was sister to Shannon Lammert, Colby Lilly and Ashley Lilly. She was married to Joseph Michael Downard; mother to Shanea, Trae, Zachary, Nicholas and Tallen Downard; mother-in-law to Brandon Yazzie and Makenzie Wilson; grandmother to Tayton and Camryn Downard; and aunt to Kaelyn and Brayden Lammert, and Braelyn Lilly.

She will be reunited with her grandparents Edward and June Neal, her father-in-law Robert Downard and her father Richard Vickers.

On November 22, 2017, Heaven received another angel. She passed away in her home of natural causes. Growing up in a small town, it is easy to know everyone. But to have the impact that Stacey had on all of us was one of a kind. She gave the best hugs and had the biggest heart. She was genuine and always made you feel welcome in her presence. I remember hearing all the kids call her mama Stace, when they would come over to hang out with Nea or one of the nephews. She loved that and the kids so much. Stacey also loved music, to play that music loudly, watching movies, Christmas lights, and crunchy ice. For those of you who didn’t know Stacey, you would probably recognize her by her fast truck and big hair. We will forever miss her laugh and her warm embrace.

“Holding you, we held everything” – Garth
