Dell “Darleen” Hassen, January 30, 1926 – December 15, 2016

Dell “Darleen” Hassen passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2016. Darleen was born on January 30, 1926, in York, Nebraska, to Roy and Ethel Anderson. Darleen grew up between York and Gresham, Nebraska, and taught school after graduating. She married Verle Lance and together they had three children, Terry, Sherry and Larry. The family moved to Blythe, California, in 1956 but Verle later passed away. Darleen later met the true love of her life in Charles (Chuck) Hassen and they had one child, Randy.

Darleen and Chuck moved to Buckeye, Arizona, in 1974 to purchase the Buckeye Airport and operate Triple H Aviation. In 1978, they found their home in Moab to work with Arrowhead helicopters. They later owned and operated Dar-C Truck Plaza and Cattleman’s Restaurant until their retirement.

Darleen was preceded in death by her mother, father and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Charles; sons Terry Lance, Larry (Sharon) Lance, Randy Hassen; daughter Sherry (John) Jackson; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family would like to extend a very warm thank-you to all of her home health providers and a very special thank-you to Dr. Munger for their years of service to Darleen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW Auxiliary Post 10,900 Moab.
