Lawrence Kingsley awarded Presidential Rank Award

Lawrence Kingsley was awarded one of the four Presidential Rank Awards this year by President Barack Obama.

The award recognizes individuals for sustained extraordinary accomplishment. Only 1 percent of career personnel may receive this rank.

Kingsley, who has received many other awards and recognition for meritorious service, is the oldest son of Joe and Patricia (deceased) Kingsley. Even though he works hard in the U.S. Air Force, Lawrence Kingsley and his extremely supporting wife Cindy have blessed Joe and Britta with 10 grandchildren, who love to visit Moab.

Kingsley graduated from Utah State University in Logan in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. One year later, he started his career in the Air Force. During his service in the Air Force, he earned a Master’s degree in political science, in 1983. Later, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree at Brigham Young University while also teaching there for three years.

During his 36 years in the Air Force, Kingsley was commanding officer at 10 different bases, including Hill Air Force Base, and locations in Germany and Turkey. For the past four years, he has served as the Director of Logistics Engineering and Force Protection for the Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base.
