In a recent op-ed, Emily Campbell called for Kyle Bailey to resign from office. Evidently at the hearing in Bluff on the (proposed) Bears Ears National Monument, there was a dust-up of sorts between Kyle and a former Moab resident.
From what I have been told, some gestures were misunderstood and words were exchanged; no one was hurt (and) no punches were thrown.
I have been critical of Kyle and the council many times. But I feel I should speak up in his defense!
I have served on several boards and committees with Kyle.
Kyle has been the most involved and unpaid civil volunteer I have known in the 27 years I have lived here. My guess is he has tens of thousands of unpaid hours in board meetings, hearings, etc.
I lean toward cutting the guy some slack!
