Moab native named South Jordan Health Center director

James Walston recently accepted the position of center director at the University of Utah’s new South Jordan Health Center.

Walston, who is the second son of Bryon and Nita Walston of Moab, started his new job on May 1.

Walston has served as the Primary Care Operation Manager for the past two-and-a-half years. During this time, he spearheaded several innovative efforts that earned South Jordan Health Center recognition in the areas of child care and newborn home visits.

Walston earned his MHA at the University of Oklahoma and was previously a manager at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

He was born and raised in Moab; he and his wife Ali have three children.
