AXS race returns to Moab

Adventure Xstream Series racers rush down the rugged course above the Colorado River during a previous event. The 15th Annual AXS Series kicks off in Moab on Saturday, April 11, combining more than 30 miles of mountain bike riding, along with singletrack running, river paddling and a 300-foot rappel down sandstone cliffs. More than 250 racers are expected to run the 50-plus mile adventurous course, according to Jenny Newcomer of Gravity Play Sports. Racers will tackle the entire course as a solo or as a team, or in the four-person relay division. Due to the remote and spectacular nature of these courses, spaces are limited; the routes are kept secret from racers until the night before the event begins.
