The 18th annual Moab Indoor Soccer Tournament will be held this weekend at the Old Spanish Trail Arena.
This year, event organizers are dedicating the tournament to Arlo Tejada, a wonderful young man and soccer stalwart in Moab who was taken down by cancer last year.
Eight teams from Utah and Colorado will compete in two divisions. A total of 20 games are planned, including one between the two Moab teams on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.; 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21; and the championship playoffs on Sunday, Feb. 22.
Teams from Moab, Fruita, Grand Junction, Rifle, and Glenwood Springs, Colorado, are entered. Games begin Friday evening at 7 p.m.
The first game on Saturday, Feb. 20 starts at 9 a.m.; games continue every hour until at least 9 p.m. Sunday’s games will decide the champions.
The final games will kick off at 9 a.m. on Feb. 22, with the A Division championship scheduled to start about 1 p.m.; the B Division championship game will be played around 2 pm.
Admission is free, so come out and enjoy a weekend of fast-paced and exciting soccer. For more information, contact Tim Graham at 435-259-8664.
