BEACON seeks ensemble cast members for spring play

The BEACON Afterschool Program is looking for young thespians to fill supporting roles in its first-ever multi-school production this spring.

The program is bringing Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” to Star Hall on May 8-9, and it’s inviting studentsin second through eighth grades to perform ensemble roles, including townspeople and dancing dishes.

Ensemble cast members will rehearse on Mondays until the weeks before the performances, at which time, more rehearsals may be required.

Helen M. Knight Elementary School students need to sign up for the Monday BEACON club. Grand County Middle School students must sign up with Mrs. Ashly Hunter or Mr. Jeremy Spaulding, and they need to be available for the Monday BEACON club at the middle school. Moab Charter School students will need to come to the after-school rehearsals on Mondays at the middle school.

For more information, contact the BEACON site coordinator at your student’s school. If you have a student in these age groups who attends home school or other alternative schooling, contact Ashly Hunter at huntera@grandschools.org.
