Turkey trotters

Chilly temperatures on Nov. 22 did not scare runners away from this year's Turkey Trot 5K race. In fact, record numbers of people participated in the 20th annual event, according to Moab City Recreation Director Chad Wright. Event organizers were still tallying the final count earlier this week, but Wright estimated that at least 157 runners signed up for the race, which aims to promote wintertime fitness. “I think it was very well received by the serious runners, as well as those runners who just wanted to have fun,” he said. According to Wright, much of the credit for the event's success should go to the volunteers who were on hand to help out. “We just had a fantastic group of volunteers,” he said.
