Matthew Robert Sundwall, age 45, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 5, 1968 in Salt Lake City to Carl Michael & Gwynn Sue Hayes Sundwall, both of Moab. Matt found his love for life by giving of himself. He spent many of his younger years volunteering his time and efforts helping diabetic youth understand and manage their condition. Later in life, he found equal happiness in volunteering with the elderly while living in Moab.
While in Moab, he enjoyed operating a computer sales and repair business, playing late-night poker with close friends and hiking and playing in the beautiful surroundings of the place that he held so close to his heart. Matt had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his brothers Keith (Janeal), Kevin, Mike and Kory (Marinda), and held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews.
Per Matthew’s wishes, a small ceremony with his brothers and close family will take place in Salt Lake at the gravesite of his parents.
