The Junior Devils traveled to Richfield to compete in the 1A/2A/3A Junior High state tournament.

The team finished 26th out of 36 teams and scored 27 team points.

Trea Meyer placed second and Carson Sheets placed third in the tournament.

Carson Whitney and Maison Moyle both placed in sixth place.

Caison Ault, 70 pounds, won one and lost two matches. Dane Glencoe, 86 pounds, won two and lost two matches. Kayden Robertson won two and lost two matches. Gregory Stubblefield lost both matches.

“This was the team’s first year competing in state,” said coach Kelly Sheets. “For taking eight kids and placing four, I think we did very well.”

Sheets said he appreciated the parents’ support during the wrestling season.

“A special thanks to Kyle Meyer, Aaron Striblen and Dexter Sheets for coaching help at the tournament,” Sheets said.
