January 1, 1952 to December 21, 2013

Nolan Ray Neilsen was born Jan. 4, 1952 in Roosevelt. He grew up in the Uintah Basin in Eastern Utah and served in the Navy after finishing high school.

Following his service in the Navy, he spent his life working in the oil fields and construction in the Uintah Basin followed by a number of years in Evanston, Wyo. He then spent the past 20 years in Moab working for Henderson Builders.

Nolan enjoyed the outdoors and especially hunting and fishing with his friends. He was a kind soul that always had a smile on his face and a big heart that made everyone he met feel like a friend.

Nolan passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 21, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson Neilsen.

He is survived by his mother, Rachel Henderson of Roosevelt, UT., his children Kirk (Emily) Neilsen of Sand Creek, WI; Rae Ann (Randy) Bernat of Casper, Wyo.; and Larry (Joani) Neilsen of Magna; his siblings: Kathy Scott, Diana (Leonard) Mecham, Brent Neilsen, Sue Ann (Lex) Smith, Chuck (Debbie) Henderson and Jeff (Carol) Henderson. He also had nine grandchildren. many nieces and nephews.

Nolan’s easy going personality and loving heart will be missed by all who knew him.
