Ten wrestlers from Moab’s new middle school team traveled to Provo for the Timpview Youth Wrestling Tournament held Saturday, Nov. 23

Independent of the team, in the first and second grade division was Ean Ellis, who took first place winning three matches.

In the fifth and sixth grade division, Caison Ault took first place in the 70-pound true beginner category after winning three matches. In his first wrestling experience, Maison Moyle took second place in the 105-pound, true beginner category after winning two matches and losing one.

Dane Glencoe wrestled tough but came up short of the medal round with two wins and two losses in a 16-man double elimination bracket in the 85-pound advanced category.

Carson Sheets placed third in the 85-pound advanced bracket after winning four and losing one. His performance helped earn him a fifth place ranking at his age and weight in the USA Wrestling Utah rankings

Isiah Williams placed third in the 146-pound true beginner category after winning one and losing two matches.

In the seventh to ninth grade division Austin Johnson wrestled tough matches to take fourth place in the 105-pound true beginner bracket. This was his first wrestling experience.

Corbin Arbon wrestled three years ago. He decided this year to give it a go again and took third in the 90-pound true beginner bracket, winning one and losing two very close matches.

Tigis Glencoe had a loss of 11-9, which kept Glencoe from the medal round in a 16-man double elimination bracket in the 85-pound advanced category, with one win and two losses.

Carson Sheets, shortly after finishing his fifth and sixth grade bracket, wrestled in the seventh to ninth grade division in the 16 man double elimination, 85-pound advanced bracket. Sheets won three and lost two, coming one match short of the medal round, losing in over time 7-5 to a number one ranked kid from the Vernal area. Carson had seven wins and three losses total for the day.

Kayden Robertson wrestled in an extremely tough 16-man double elimination bracket at 95-pound advanced. Robertson placed fourth after winning three and losing two matches, with his final loss in the third place match.
