Billy James Harrison

Billy James Harrison was born on Nov. 23, 1980 in Moab to two loving parents, Peter George Harrison and Wendy Beth Walker-Tibbetts. When Billy was four years old, the growing family moved to Grand Junction, Colo., where they lived for about 10 years before moving back to Moab.

As a teen Billy worked as a dishwasher and busboy at the family restaurant. As Billy grew older he hungered for a trade working outdoors. During this period he worked as a stonemason with his stepfather James and as a heavy equipment operator.

Billy’s talents operating a dozer were unmatched and he mastered his craft at a young age. He impressed and amazed his clients with his ability to finish a road to perfection without the need of a road grader. Billy was never afraid to work hard and embraced making a living the blue collar way.

Billy met Jennifer Thiboutot in the winter of 2002. It was love at first sight and the two quickly became inseparable. On July 16, 2005 they were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Joshua Peter Harrison.

Billy was an avid outdoorsman. His grandfather Jimmy Walker taught him everything he knew about hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. The wealth of knowledge passed onto Billy from Jimmy was put to good use throughout his life. Billy’s exceptional talents as a hunter and explorer/gatherer were an incredible sight.

Above all else Billy loved being with his family and if asked, he would not hesitate to say his greatest achievement was his son Josh. Billy was a great brother, son, and friend. He loved his family passionately and everyone he touched during his walk on earth will dearly miss the radiance of his heart. The legacy left behind by Billy’s life will be a pleasure and a challenge for his friends and family to carry.
