Frances Edna Smith Jones

Frances Edna Smith Jones, long time resident of Moab and proprietor of the Beauti Terrace, passed away on Sunday, July 21 at her home in Moab.

Frances was born Jan. 28, 1922 to John Cameron and Polly Lucinda Fredrickson Smith. in Tremonton. She was married to Wallace C. “Curly” Jones Dec. 10, 1941 Malad, Idaho.

During the Uranium Boom, Frances and her family moved to Moab. Frances was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings. She loved being primary president and later as the relief society president. She was a visiting teacher for a majority of her adult life.

She was long known as a hair stylist to many residents of Moab until she retired at 85. Frances will always be remembered for her love and kindness. She made sure to be there for anyone who needed a helping hand.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her siblings Eleda Vee, Junior, and Polly; her daughter Jeanine; and four grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Camylla (Fred) Butler of Garland; Valerie Jones of Salt Lake City; Jenifer (John) Graham of Moab; Melodie Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
