Ocean DeGraw, the retail manager of WabiSabi shakes hands with Audrey Graham of the Purple Bench Project. The Purple Bench Project placed its eighth bench in front of WabiSabi Thriftique on 400 East on Tuesday, July 16. Purple benches are used by residents who need rides locally. They are on private property of the road right-of-way. Anyone sitting on a bench is seeking a ride in the direction of travel as part of a free public transportation system using personal cars. WabiSabi, Moab Lion’s Club, Moab Valley Multicultural Center, Moab Tool Shed and Moab Young Life volunteers have donated money, materials and labor to provide the purple benches.
