Douglas Raymond Ward was born March 26, 1946 in Greenville, South Carolina to Joseph Henry Ward and Evelyn Ethel Murphy.
Douglas passed away June 12, 2013 peacefully in his sleep.
Doug is survived by his children: Lucenda and Aaron Woodard, Raymie and Joe McKeon and Isaiah and Megan Ward; by his five grandchildren: Jace Woodard, Brendon Woodard, Kilee Woodard, Dayson Ward and Elizabeth McKeon. Doug is also survived by his two brothers Jerald and James Ward and sister Sharon McElhaney.
Doug was an incredibly devoted son, father and brother. He was a wonderful friend, member and server in the community and member of the First Baptist Church of Moab.
Papa Doug is known for his joy of serving others, wild adventures, love of photography, and his amazing smile. There were three things that Doug firmly believed in: God, Family and the Power of Pepsi. Doug taught by example that it should be easy to give and difficult to receive.
He has blessed the lives of all who knew him and even though we know he is happy and where he wants to be he will be very missed.
