Dear Editor,
I believe that what you call something does matter. I also believe that if we are not moving forward, we are falling behind.
The movement to rename Negro Bill Canyon to Grandstaff Canyon is an example of our beautiful town moving forward and becoming even more appealing. By changing a place name to one that does not offend anyone moves our town forward. Let’s continue to grow and attract new families. Let’s make our town as hospitable as possible to those who travel from all over the world to visit the paradise we call home. Let’s expand our hearts and minds to accept each other as citizens of one planet, not separated or judged by the color of our skin.
